Solenis is a leading global provider of water and hygiene solutions. We’re seeking a proactive and skilled Lead Operator Logistics to join our dynamic chemical manufacturing site in Bradford. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll be the senior operator on shift, guiding operations, supporting your team, and ensuring safety and efficiency in a high‑hazard environment. You’ll play a central role in driving operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Lead shift operations, ensuring production targets, safety standards, and quality requirements are consistently met.
- Act as Incident Controller, Main Controller, or Liaison Officer under the Site Emergency Plan.
- Issue permits (Hot Work/General), conduct hazard assessments, and enforce EHS policies.
- Mentor operators, support on‑the‑job training, and promote knowledge sharing.
- Respond to alarms and troubleshoot plant/process issues in real‑time.
- Coordinate product flow, stock allocation, vehicle movements, and warehouse interface.
- Maintain accurate shift logs, reports, and documentation for seamless handovers.
- Drive improvements in safety, process reliability, and housekeeping through initiatives like Lean and 5S.
About you
- Experience in chemical manufacturing or hazardous process environments.
- Strong understanding of EHS regulations, COMAH, DVSA/HGV standards, and chemical logistics.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support operational teams.
- Excellent situational awareness, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to stay composed under pressure and respond swiftly in emergency situations.
- A team player with a commitment to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
