Transport Planner / Shipping Coordinator

Location: Derby

Contract: 12-month contract (rolling, likely to extend)

Hours: 37 hours per week | Fully onsite

Pay: Up to £22.41 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Transport Planner / Shipping Coordinator to join a friendly and supportive logistics team based at the East Midlands Gateway.

This is a key operational role, responsible for planning and coordinating outbound customer shipments to destinations across the UK and Europe.

This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to develop their experience within transport, shipping, or logistics operations. Full training and clear work instructions will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end planning and coordination of customer shipments
• Ensuring correct paperwork is matched to the correct carrier and customer
• Creation and management of shipping labels using SAP and shipping systems
• Liaising with internal teams, customers, and transport carriers to meet time-critical deadlines
• Completing export and shipping documentation (including labels and shipping notes)
• End-of-day shipping activity, including European declarations and carrier pre-alerts
• Supporting freight invoice processing and resolving discrepancies
• Maintaining accurate records and spreadsheets, with a strong focus on detail

• Experience using SAP
• Knowledge of export regulations or customs processes
• Background in logistics, transport planning, warehousing or administration

Working Pattern

This is a fully onsite role, working a rotating shift pattern once trained:

• Shift 1: Mon–Thu 08:30–16:30 | Fri 08:30–16:00
• Shift 2: Mon–Thu 10:30–18:30 | Fri 11:00–18:30
