SOC Manager in Redditch

Location: Redditch, Birmingham (Hybrid)

We're seeking an experienced SOC Manager with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Sentinel and the Microsoft Defender suite to lead a customer-facing Security Operations Centre. This is a technical leadership role where you'll oversee SOC operations, lead major security incidents, drive SIEM engineering and automation initiatives, and work closely with customer stakeholders to continuously improve security services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a high-performing SOC team across onsite and offshore locations.
• Take ownership of major security incidents and support complex investigations.
• Drive SIEM engineering, detection tuning, automation, and security platform improvements.
• Collaborate with security, cloud, and infrastructure teams to strengthen security posture.
• Build strong customer relationships, deliver service reporting, and champion continuous service improvement.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years' experience in SOC operations, incident response, and security leadership.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Azure, Microsoft 365 Security, and KQL.
• Expertise in SIEM engineering, SOAR, EDR/XDR, threat detection, and security architecture.
• Solid understanding of NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, cloud security, and threat intelligence.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical teams and senior stakeholders.
• PowerShell or Python scripting.
• Experience with tools such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Mimecast, Proofpoint, Cisco, ServiceNow, and Entra ID.
• SC-200 and AZ-500 certifications are highly desirable. CISSP, CISM, GCIH, CySA+, and Security+ are advantageous.
