Are you a technically skilled and commercially savvy Solutions Consultant with a passion for shaping innovative network solutions within the Public Sector? We’re looking for a Senior Solutions Consultant to join a growing team supporting a wide range of public sector organisations, including central and local government, healthcare, education, and regulatory authorities.
In this role, you’ll be an integral part of the Pre-Sales function, collaborating with sales, engineering, and delivery teams to craft tailored solutions that meet the evolving connectivity and managed service needs of the public sector. A strong foundation in Wide Area Networks and network connectivity is essential, alongside experience working within public sector frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide Pre-Sales technical support to the Public Sector Sales Team throughout the sales cycle.
- Attend customer meetings, present solutions to mid-level and C-suite stakeholders, and lead technical discussions.
- Define and design bespoke network and managed service solutions, including documentation such as network diagrams and bills of materials.
- Collaborate with engineering and bid teams to ensure solution feasibility and alignment with technical and commercial objectives.
- Respond to RFI/RFPs with high-quality technical input and risk/dependency assessments.
- Support existing public sector clients with technical consultancy and solution updates.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant security, compliance, and governance standards.
- Minimum 4-5 years' experience in IT/Telecoms with a solid understanding of WAN, network infrastructure, and connectivity solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in a Pre-Sales role with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement processes and relevant frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as VPLS, MPLS, BGP, VRRP, IGRP, and platforms including Juniper (SRX/EX) and Cisco.
- Strong documentation skills (Microsoft Word, Project, Visio) and a grasp of Enterprise Architecture methods like TOGAF (desirable).
- Familiarity with secure Internet solutions (firewalls, SIEM), LAN environments, and cloud architectures (public/private) is a plus.
- Knowledge of sector-specific networks such as HSCN, PSN, or JANET is highly advantageous.
