About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Customs Administrator to join a leading manufacturing organisation at their engine facility in Stafford. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to support the international movement of goods, ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations and internal company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately provide customs clearance instructions to brokers within strict UK regulatory timelines
- Ensure all imports are cleared compliantly and in line with HMRC and company procedures
- Manage and check import documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Liaise with stakeholders to resolve queries and discrepancies
- Calculate customs duties and identify opportunities for duty savings
- Maintain accurate and auditable records for HMRC inspections
- Monitor compliance metrics and escalate issues when necessary
- Coordinate classification requests and contribute to process improvements
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Confident communicator (written and verbal)
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (e.g., pivot tables, basic formulas, formatting)
- Experience in large or multinational organisations
- Previous experience in import/export operations
- Familiarity with Incoterms and CDS (Customs Declaration Service)
