Manufacturing Engineer (Contract) - Peterborough Location: Peterborough, UK (On-site) Contract Length: 9 Months Rate: £38.17 per hour (£282.46 per day) IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Start Date: ASAP An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a world-class engineering and manufacturing environment in Peterborough. Working within a high-performing manufacturing engineering team, you will play a key role in supporting production growth, New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, process improvements, and capital investment projects across advanced engine manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, continuous improvement initiatives, and high-profile engineering projects within a globally recognised organisation. Key Responsibilities Support manufacturing engineering activities across assembly and final assembly operations. Deliver process improvement, industrialisation, and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. Develop and maintain PFMEAs, Control Plans, Standard Operating Procedures, and manufacturing documentation. Lead manufacturing readiness activities for new and existing products. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, and productivity. Support equipment installation, commissioning, process validation, and capability studies. Work closely with Product Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Suppliers to optimise manufacturing performance. Provide technical support to production teams, resolving manufacturing issues and implementing sustainable solutions. Contribute to tooling, automation, and manufacturing system improvements. Required Experience Proven Manufacturing Engineering experience within a production or manufacturing environment. Experience delivering NPI, industrialisation, process improvement, or manufacturing projects. Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies. Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, process validation, and root cause analysis. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities. Desirable Automotive, off-highway, aerospace, pharmaceutical, or other process-driven manufacturing experience. Engineering degree or equivalent practical manufacturing engineering experience. Exposure to CAD systems, Teamcenter, or manufacturing simulation tools
