We are currently recruiting for an experienced Material Planner to join a busy manufacturing and supply chain operation based in Desford. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering a competitive day rate of £188.55 per day based on a 37.5 hour week.

Working within a collaborative planning team, you'll play a key role in ensuring materials are delivered on time to support production schedules, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.

The Role

You'll be responsible for coordinating material flow, managing supplier schedules, resolving supply chain issues, and supporting inventory accuracy across the business. This role requires strong communication skills, excellent Excel capability, and previous experience within planning, logistics, procurement, or manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate supplier schedules and material deliveries
  • Ensure material availability to support production plans
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Resolve supply chain and inventory issues efficiently
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements
  • Work closely with operations, logistics, and planning teams
  • Analyse planning data using Excel and internal systems
  • Support inventory control and production planning activities
Experience Required
  • Previous experience within Material Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Procurement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, FMCG, or transport environments
  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUPs, and formulas
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively

  • £188.55 per day
  • Inside IR35
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 16:30
  • Friday: 08:00 - 13:30
  • 12-month rolling contract with strong extension potential
