What's the role?
Step into a role where strategy meets engineering excellence. As a Lead AI Engineer, you will be the driving force behind turning bold business opportunities into production-ready AI solutions. You will shape intelligent agents, craft next-generation conversational experiences using modern AI tooling, and architect a semantic layer that ensures models deliver accurate, trusted insights every time. If you're ready to take ownership of an organisation's AI future and build the systems that make it real this role offers a genuine platform to do so.
Key Responsibilities:
- AI Solution Development & Agent Building
- Design, build, and deploy low-code and pro-code AI agents to automate business workflows (e.g. HR queries, IT support, operational data retrieval)
- Develop custom Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions to enable large language models to reason over proprietary documents and data
- Integrate AI agents with enterprise systems (e.g. CRM, collaboration tools, operational platforms) via APIs and automation connectors
- Own the creation and maintenance of AI semantic workspaces, translating complex database schemas into business-friendly models
- Define and govern standard metrics, dimensions, and synonyms to ensure AI systems "speak the language of the business"
- Continuously monitor AI answer quality, using human feedback to refine semantic models and improve accuracy over time
- Partner with business stakeholders across finance, operations, and commercial teams to translate high-level use cases into technical requirements
- Rapidly prototype AI solutions to demonstrate value and accelerate adoption
- Act as a technical evangelist, enabling non-technical users to interact effectively with AI tools and insights
- Implement monitoring frameworks to track cost, latency, and quality of AI outputs
- Ensure AI solutions comply with organisational data governance and security standards, including preventing data leakage via LLMs
- Manage the full lifecycle of AI models and agents from development through production and retirement
What We're Looking For?
- Strong hands-on experience with modern cloud data and AI platforms, including AI agent tooling, analytics platforms, and semantic layers
- Strong stakeholder engagement experience with the skill-set of being able to translate complex requirements to the board and senior team members
- Proven ability to design analytics-ready data models and metrics layers
- Practical experience with large language models LLM's, prompt engineering, and RAG architectures
- Proficiency in Python (data manipulation, API interaction) and SQL data modelling
- Experience working with REST APIs and integrating multiple business systems
- Ability to clearly explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders and translate feedback into production-quality solutions
What's in it for you?
- 25 personal holiday days per year (plus 8 public holidays), increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service (with buy/sell options)
- Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave
- 24/7 free and confidential employee assistance service
- Health benefits plan offering cashback on everyday healthcare (optical, dental, physio), discounted gym memberships, and free 24/7 online GP access
