What You'll Be Doing

  • Assembling and upgrading instrumentation panels to required standards.
  • Calibrating, maintaining, and fault-finding precision instrumentation systems.
  • Providing first-line breakdown support for test facilities and associated equipment.
  • Performing preventative maintenance and calibration activities.
  • Supporting upgrades, modifications, and commissioning of test equipment and facilities.
  • Diagnosing electronic system faults using specialist test equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance and calibration records.
  • Working closely with engineers, technicians, and contractors on a variety of technical projects.

What We're Looking For

  • Essential: Technical apprenticeship (electrical/electronic discipline) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience building or wiring instrumentation panels.
  • Calibration, fault-finding, and maintenance of precision instrumentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics.
  • Experience working to health and safety standards and procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good documentation and reporting skills.
  • Desirable: HNC or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Multi-skilled across electrical and electronic disciplines.
  • Experience within a test facility or test cell environment.
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis techniques.
  • Understanding of wiring regulations and standards (18th Edition advantageous).
  • Competent with Microsoft Office applications.
