An exciting opportunity has opened within a leading engineering organisation for a Design Engineer specialising in Air & Fuel Systems. This role offers the chance to work on advanced engine platforms (C4.4 / C7.1) and play a key role in delivering innovative solutions from concept through to production.

What you'll be doing

  • You'll take ownership of the design and development of air and fuel system components, delivering high-quality, reliable engineering solutions.
  • Your day-to-day will include:
    • Leading design and development projects to meet time, cost, and quality targets
    • Creating and developing components using CAD (Creo) and PLM (Teamcenter)
    • Running and leading design reviews with cross-functional stakeholders
    • Working closely with suppliers using APQP to deliver robust solutions
    • Assessing technical risks (FMEA) and defining validation plans (DVP&R)
    • Investigating and resolving issues using structured methodologies (8D)
    • Collaborating with global teams to implement engineering solutions
    • Supporting production release with technical documentation

What you'll bring

  • We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative mindset:
    • Essential:
      • Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
      • 6-8 years' experience in mechanical or engine-related engineering
      • Strong understanding of engine systems and components
      • Proven experience using Creo CAD and Teamcenter PLM
      • Experience designing powertrain or engine components
      • Ability to manage complex projects independently
      • Strong communication and teamwork skills
    • Desirable:
      • Experience with high and/or low-pressure fuel systems
      • Knowledge of air systems, EGR, or turbochargers
      • Experience with APQP, FMEA, DVP&R
      • Background in off-highway diesel engines
      • Experience in simulation, rig testing, and system validation
