An exciting opportunity has opened within a leading engineering organisation for a Design Engineer specialising in Air & Fuel Systems. This role offers the chance to work on advanced engine platforms (C4.4 / C7.1) and play a key role in delivering innovative solutions from concept through to production.
What you'll be doing
- You'll take ownership of the design and development of air and fuel system components, delivering high-quality, reliable engineering solutions.
- Your day-to-day will include:
- Leading design and development projects to meet time, cost, and quality targets
- Creating and developing components using CAD (Creo) and PLM (Teamcenter)
- Running and leading design reviews with cross-functional stakeholders
- Working closely with suppliers using APQP to deliver robust solutions
- Assessing technical risks (FMEA) and defining validation plans (DVP&R)
- Investigating and resolving issues using structured methodologies (8D)
- Collaborating with global teams to implement engineering solutions
- Supporting production release with technical documentation
What you'll bring
- We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative mindset:
- Essential:
- Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 6-8 years' experience in mechanical or engine-related engineering
- Strong understanding of engine systems and components
- Proven experience using Creo CAD and Teamcenter PLM
- Experience designing powertrain or engine components
- Ability to manage complex projects independently
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Desirable:
- Experience with high and/or low-pressure fuel systems
- Knowledge of air systems, EGR, or turbochargers
- Experience with APQP, FMEA, DVP&R
- Background in off-highway diesel engines
- Experience in simulation, rig testing, and system validation
