Purpose of the role: To provide data-led expert oversight and check and challenge on business and compliance matters to evidence that the organisation is operating in compliance with Barclays legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities.
Accountabilities:
- Identification and assessment of compliance risks through thorough reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing and systems.
- Identification and investigation of potential market abuse, including but not limited to, Insider Dealing, Unlawful Disclosure, Market Manipulation or Anti-Competitive Conduct.
- Conduct investigation of compliance risk events or breaches.
- Oversight and check and challenge of corrective actions and preventative measures to avoid future occurrences.
- Implementation of compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and ensuring that the bank’s internal policies are aligned with international standards, including jurisdictional requirements.
- Collaboration with 1LOD, other relevant Compliance teams and legal, and relevant risk management functions to facilitate a comprehensive approach to compliance and risk management.
- Identification, investigation and oversight of potential money laundering, terrorist financing or other financial crime.

For an individual contributor, they will be a subject matter expert within their own discipline and will guide technical direction. To be successful as a Regulatory Compliance Lead BPL - VP you should have:
- Subject matter expertise and/or the ability to quickly navigate and assimilate knowledge on the FCA handbook and e-money and payment regulations.
- Significant experience in a Regulatory Compliance role, including delivering training, breach management and setting policy/control requirements in a Compliance function.
- Strong experience with effective management reporting and data and dashboard fluency.
- A comprehensive understanding of a Compliance function and its role, Compliance risks and an ability to help and influence the design and implementation of new Compliance processes.
- An ability to deal with high levels of organisational and business change, including driving requirements and making recommendations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex challenges.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement to convey findings and solutions.
- Effective execution skills to proactively set compliance actions and deadlines, monitor progress and elevate as needed to deliver on time.
- Strong knowledge and experience of risk management including risk assessment tools and technologies.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work independently, manage competing demands and deliver to deadlines.
