This role is EU based. Elementis has identified growth in new markets as a core strategic priority, building on the full potential of its unique hectorite asset and the deep capabilities of the company in rheology, formulation and application expertise. The New Markets Application Manager is a global leadership role established to support this ambition into execution. The role sits at the intersection of technology and commercial delivery, working closely with market development and technology to translate Elementis’ differentiators into compelling application proof points to support scalable growth opportunities. The role is accountable for application development activities that enable Elementis to enter new markets by translating early stage market and customer requirements into validated, scalable application solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess new markets for Elementis technologies/products.
  • Scan market for new application opportunities through research and networking: understand trends, customers, competitors, products, technologies, applications.
  • Explore new opportunities starting with industry mapping, unmet need(s) definition and drafting of Elementis potential value proposition.
  • Prepare business cases for identified opportunities, establish trust and credibility to drive decision making.
  • On a quarterly basis, present insights and progress to Exco members.
  • Support Technical Sales in market development in Asia.
  • Drive product launches for approved markets.
  • Internal training for technical and commercial teams as well as training of distributors.
  • Ensure technical sales/sales have the necessary data, tools and documentation to drive lead conversion and develop new customers.
  • Support technical service/sales in expanding and validating the prospect lists and plan persuasive approaches and pitches.
  • Ensure handover to technical sales/sales teams in 6-12 months post launch.
  • Lead multi-functional projects related to new markets.
  • Drive, coordinate and track deadlines, deliverables, resources and timelines throughout the project and against the project plan.
  • Engage with stakeholders, hold members accountable for commitments and conduct project meetings.
  • Establish project dashboard and regular status updates.
  • Ensure proper project closeout and provide for plan to transition to daily operations.
  • Evaluate projects, identify and analyze lessons learned.
  • Lead the R&D coordination to introduce new products in the stage gate process.

  • Makes recommendations on go/no-go, investment, and launch decisions, escalating where required, and ensures alignment with the Global Director, New Markets Development and key stakeholders.

Position Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor or Master’s degree, preferably Chemistry, Sales, Business or equivalent.
  • Work experience: Minimum of 8 years experience in sales/marketing or NBD in battery technology. Experience and network in Asia battery technology is a must.
  • Language skills: Fluent in English.
  • Work arrangement: Remote/Hybrid.
  • Travel required: The position requires regular travel, up to 50%.
