At Praktika.ai we are on a mission to deliver efficient and engaging learning experiences for billions of students worldwide by bridging the gap between learning apps and human tutors. We have done this by creating a fully automated language tutorship experience powered by generative AI Avatars. After raising $30 million in Series-A funding, we are growing and looking for a Senior/Lead Product Designer to join us! We are a global small team of 40 innovators who are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in language learning and tutoring.
In this fast-paced environment we like independent self-starters who can work well in a team as well as unassisted and who enjoy the working environment of an early-stage startup. We’re looking for a Lead/Product Designer with deep experience in UX/UI for our mobile consumer apps — someone ready to craft an entirely new user experience from the ground up. What You’ll Do with us:
- Design Next-Gen Mobile Experiences
- Help lead the end-to-end UX/UI design of our mobile consumer app, from concept to pixel-perfect execution.
- Craft user-friendly, accessible, and visually compelling interfaces that blend simplicity with innovation.
- Lead the user journey and interface design around avatar-based conversation, creating seamless interactions.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design novel interfaces powered by AI assistants.
- Explore and prototype new interaction patterns that feel intuitive, human, and forward-thinking.
- Conduct user research, gather feedback, and iterate designs based on real insights.
- Use data, user testing, and heuristics to optimize for clarity, usability, and engagement.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and leadership in a fast-paced environment.
- Translate bold ideas into designs that can be shipped quickly and scaled thoughtfully.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience designing end-to-end UX/UI for high-quality consumer mobile apps.
- A portfolio that showcases strong interaction design, visual polish, and systems thinking.
- Familiarity with AI assistant technologies and interest in shaping novel interaction models.
- A user-centered mindset with a deep understanding of usability, accessibility, and mobile design best practices.
- Experience conducting or working with user research and usability testing.
- Comfort with design tools like Figma, and ideally, prototyping tools like Protopie or Framer.
