Working Hours/Pattern:

Full-time, although we would be happy to consider applicants who are looking to work on a part-time basis. What is the role about?

Employment Advisers are the front line of Reed in Partnership. The main purpose of the role is to support unemployed jobseekers (our participants) with finding and sustaining employment, engage with employers, and make local communities aware of the benefits of our service. Our participants are the lifeblood of our business, and providing them with an excellent service is at the very core of the Employment Adviser role.

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting with jobseekers, identifying any challenges and barriers to finding employment
  • Booking jobseekers to relevant training courses including customer service, security, hospitality, personal development, IT literacy, and others
  • Supporting jobseekers with CV writing and job application processes
  • Liaising with employers to identify employment opportunities for jobseekers
  • Outreach work – promoting Reed in Partnership within the local community
  • Building rapport, showing empathy, motivating people, and influencing their perception of work

To be successful, you should have:

  • Coaching/mentoring experience and persuasion/influencing skills from work or social activities
  • Experience in customer-facing environments (e.g., Customer Service, Hospitality, Social Care, Sales)
  • Experience working in a performance target-driven environment
  • Willingness to travel locally
  • At least 2 A-Levels or Level 3 Diploma, and GCSE English Language at Grade B or equivalent
  • Fluency in more than one language
