This is a brilliant first role for someone who enjoys solving problems, is eager to learn, and has a good grounding in data and analytics. You don't need to have all the answers — you need to be the kind of person who goes looking for them.
Working alongside teams across the agency, you'll get hands‑on experience connecting data sources, building workflows and helping colleagues get more from the tools and platforms we use every day.
Permanent Role, Edinburgh / Hybrid
- Help identify where data, automation and smarter tooling could save time or improve how we work
- Support the build and maintenance of automated workflows that connect business platforms and reduce manual effort
- Assist with data integration tasks — pulling data from APIs, organising it and making it useful
- Help develop simple dashboards or internal tools that give teams better visibility of their data
- Learn and contribute to AI-powered workflow development as your skills grow
- Document processes clearly and support colleagues in using new tools with confidence
Skills & Experience
- A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics or a related discipline
- Some experience with scripting — Python, SQL or similar — even if just from university projects or personal learning
- A genuine interest in data: how it's structured, how it moves between systems, and how it can be used to answer real questions
- Good analytical thinking and a natural instinct for breaking problems down
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets and structured data at a minimum
- Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, Google Sheets or similar platforms is a plus
- Any exposure to automation tools, APIs or databases is welcome but not essential
- Strong communication skills — you can explain what you're doing and why in plain language
- Eagerness to learn new tools and technologies on the job, including AI-assisted workflows
- Organised and methodical, with good attention to detail
What We're Really Looking For
More than any specific tool or technology, we want someone who is hungry to learn, enjoys figuring things out and can apply logical thinking to real business problems. If you've got a solid grounding in data and some scripting experience, we'll help you build the rest.
