8 Million Stories are one of the UK’s fastest growing digital marketing agencies with an expanding client base that includes Tesco Insurance, BBC World Service, General Mills and Visit Britain. We are currently seeking a Senior SEO / GEO Specialist to join our team to build on and evolve our product offering, with a strong focus on agility, as we continue to adapt to the modern AI-driven landscape.
What does the role involve?
- This role will be split 50 / 50 between client strategy and supporting the ongoing development of our SEO / GEO offering as an agency.
- From a client perspective, the successful candidate will work across two key clients, with responsibilities including:
- Day-to-day management and communications with key client contacts.
- Providing expert consultancy, with a strong ability in technical SEO / GEO strategy and implementation.
- Supporting the development and execution of content strategies aligned to broader digital marketing and commercial objectives.
- Working confidently with large data sets, analysing, interpreting, and manipulating data to generate actionable insights, including SEO forecasting and performance modelling.
- Monitoring and managing web analytics dashboards and reporting tools, identifying key trends, opportunities and areas for optimisation in line with client goals.
- Bringing a commercially driven mindset, ensuring all recommendations are aligned to measurable business impact and performance outcomes.
- Act as an internal champion for all things SEO / GEO, driving best practice across the agency.
- Lead thought leadership initiatives, including internal workshops, and keep the wider team informed on key industry developments.
- Support the ongoing development of our agency offering, including optimisation of our website, marketing materials, case studies and internal resources.
- Collaborate closely with other channel leads (paid media, social, analytics) to develop integrated, synergistic strategies.
- Train and upskill junior and mid-level team members, supporting their progression and capability development.
- Bring strong AI and automation capabilities into play, supporting the evolution of strategy approaches and improving efficiency across delivery.
- Develop and implement AI-supported workflows and documentation to streamline processes.
- Demonstrate strong team leadership, ensuring high-quality outputs while enabling team growth and scalability.
- Clearly define and communicate strategic concepts, distilling complex ideas into actionable insights and identifying key priorities.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant role, ideally agency side.
- Highly proficient in GA4 and leading SEO/GEO tools with a strong understanding of all areas of SEO/GEO.
- Strong multitasking and prioritisation skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Having the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
