To provide 7IM Agile Squad(s) with an automation first approach to delivering incremental change. Provide day to day support to meet the 7IM Test Chapter objectives. Provide informed test guidance, support and delivery to the business, development and support functions throughout the lifecycle of our software solutions, with a 'shift-left' approach. Helping to support overall delivery of the test automation agenda as 7IM drive towards a Quality Engineering culture.
Responsibilities
- Ability to build and enhance Test Automation frameworks.
- Continuous learning while keeping appraised of industry advancement, particularly in the use of AI.
- Analysis of requirements (functional / non-functional) to enable you to confidently suggest types of testing that could / should be conducted on a piece of work including the approach(es) that could / should be taken.
- Create data generation / manipulation / mining queries to support test prep and execution.
- Communication of the impact of not conducting certain types of testing should be effective such that stakeholders understand and acknowledge any assumed risk.
- Be proactive in terms of suggesting improvements to test principles, techniques, and tools to other 7IM Test Chapter members.
- Create opportunities to increase efficiency, consistency, and value of testing; once created these opportunities should be driven forward in the most autonomous way possible.
- Support Test Leads in the roll out of new approaches and processes.
- Driving a BDD and / or TDD culture among peers, within the software development lifecycle.
- Coaching members of the wider Test Chapter who have automation ambition.
About You
General Skills / Tools:
- The ability to interact and influence Agile Squad(s) and other key stakeholders.
- BDD experience to champion best practices aligned with industry standards.
- Strong analytical skills to influence testing approach.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills (verbal & written) to help manage defects and relay complex technical details to a business audience.
- In-depth knowledge of the delivery lifecycle alongside the ISTQB industry best practice techniques.
- Asset Management industry knowledge.
- Experience of Azure Cloud and associated tech stack.
- Intermediate SQL.
- Microsoft Developer & Test Tools e.g., TFS / ADO.
Automation Skills / Tools:
- Playwright (.Net).
- Specflow / Reqnroll (or another BDD framework tool).
- Selenium (desirable).
- Proficient in object-oriented programming (C# desirable).
- FitNesse (desirable).
- Familiarity with API test tools e.g., Postman / ReadyAPI.
- Familiarity CI/CD Pipelines (desirable).
Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of the delivery lifecycle.
- ISTQB industry best practice techniques.
- Asset Management industry knowledge.
Qualifications:
- ISEB / ISTQB Foundation.
- Further ISEB / ISTQB qualifications are advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience.
