We have recently opened a brand-new restaurant in Mayfair and are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and reliable Barback to join our bar team and support the delivery of an exceptional guest experience. This beautifully designed space will offer an outstanding dining and drinking experience, combining high-quality cuisine with a world-class cocktail and beverage program in a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere from morning to night.

Position Summary
As Head Bartender, you will oversee all aspects of the bar operation—from daily service and team leadership to innovation and compliance. You will lead by example, ensuring drinks are crafted to exacting standards of taste, temperature, and presentation, while fostering an atmosphere of warmth, character, and professionalism. This role demands creativity, strong leadership, and operational awareness, as well as a deep passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences through a dynamic, original drinks and coffee programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the bar team in delivering consistently outstanding drinks, ensuring high standards in flavour, presentation, and timing.
- Champion guest engagement, particularly at bar seating, offering warm, personalised service with classic bartender charm.
- Collaborate on the drinks offering by reviewing menus and driving innovation through seasonal and unique creations.
- Manage stock levels, recipe costing, portion control, and wastage to maintain profitability and control drink costs.
- Uphold all food safety and health & safety procedures, ensuring team compliance with both internal standards and statutory regulations.
- Work closely with the General Manager to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient bar environment.
- Train and develop the bar team to continually raise standards and maintain team engagement.
- Support the wider service team and contribute to the overall guest experience at 74 Duke.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as Head Bartender, Bar Supervisor, or similar senior bar role in a high-quality hospitality environment.
- Passion for mixology, with a strong eye for detail in taste, presentation, and creativity.
- Barista experience and strong knowledge of coffee preparation, flavour profiling, and equipment handling.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to train, mentor, and inspire a team.
- Excellent guest interaction skills and a flair for delivering warm, engaging service.
- Solid understanding of bar operations, including cost control, stock management, and health & safety compliance.
- Organised, reliable, and driven by delivering excellence.
