Job Description

The Trade Operations Analyst will support customs compliance and trade execution across DePuy Synthes global operations. The role ensures that all import and export activities are conducted in line with applicable customs regulations, internal policies, and compliance frameworks. This technical compliance role focuses on enabling compliant trade flows while mitigating regulatory and financial risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Import / Export Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs documentation requirements, and regulatory controls across regions.
    • Support accurate and compliant customs declarations.
  • Broker & Customs Coordination
    • Act as primary liaison with customs brokers.
    • Provide clear instructions and requirements for customs filings.
    • Ensure brokers operate in line with J&J compliance standards.
  • Trade Data & Documentation
    • Manage and validate HS classification, country of origin, and customs data elements required for declarations.
    • Ensure accuracy and consistency of trade data.
  • IOR / EOR & Entity Setup (Osprey relevant)
    • Support alignment of Importer/Exporter of Record, EORI/VAT requirements, and legal entity customs readiness.
  • Compliance Governance & Risk Management
    • Identify and elevate compliance risks, data gaps, and process deviations.
    • Support audit readiness and maintain compliant documentation records.
  • Trade Program & Process Support
    • Assist in the implementation of trade agreements (e.g., REX, origin statements) and customs processes.
    • Contribute to standardisation of trade processes across regions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Collaborate with Supply Chain Finance, Tax, Legal, and external brokers to provide guidance on trade requirements and compliance expectations.
