Position Overview

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for Shockwave Medical Inc. an Associate Director Marketing North Europe - Shockwave IVL, to be located in the United Kingdom. As Associate Director Marketing for the Region North, you will play a key leadership role in driving the commercial success and sustainable growth of Shockwave Medical across UK, Ireland, Nordics and Benelux regions. You will shape and execute the regional marketing strategy in close alignment with global business objectives, while ensuring strong adaptation to local healthcare systems, regulatory requirements, and reimbursement environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regional Marketing Leadership: Shape and drive the Region North marketing strategy in alignment with global priorities and local market needs. Translate strategic direction into clear regional priorities and execution plans.
  • Go-to-Market and Portfolio Strategy: Develop and execute regional go‑to‑market strategies across the product lifecycle, from launch readiness to mature portfolio optimization. Use market intelligence, customer insights, and performance data to guide portfolio focus and marketing investment decisions.
  • Product Launch Excellence: Lead and coordinate regional product launches across all Region North markets. Ensure strong cross‑functional launch readiness and track post‑launch performance.
  • Market Access and Reimbursement: Partner with market access, health economics, and reimbursement teams to support access strategies and value communication.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with Sales, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, and Global Marketing. Influence outcomes in a matrix organisation through clear communication and alignment.
  • External Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong working relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and relevant clinical stakeholders across the North region. Support Shockwave Medical’s positioning as a trusted partner within the clinical community.
  • People Leadership and Capability Building: Provide functional leadership, coaching, and development to future marketing team members as well as sales and marketing coordinators. Contribute to building strong marketing capabilities, processes, and ways of working across the region.
  • Governance, Performance, and Compliance: Support regional budget planning, performance tracking, and reporting. Ensure all marketing activities adhere to Johnson & Johnson standards, compliance requirements, and applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8–10+ years of marketing experience within the medical device, MedTech, or healthcare industry, including responsibility for regional or multi‑country initiatives.
  • Proven experience developing and executing go‑to‑market strategies and product launches in complex healthcare environments.
  • Strong understanding of UKI, Benelux and Nordics healthcare systems and reimbursement landscapes.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively across functions, countries, and geographies in a matrix organization.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data and insights into clear strategic direction.
  • Fluency in English required; additional European languages are a plus.
