Job Overview: DePuy Synthes is recruiting an EMEA Education Lead located in Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom or Zuchwil, Switzerland. The role is responsible for defining and executing the Professional and Commercial Education strategy across EMEA to support DePuy Synthes’ commercial priorities. The position collaborates closely with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs and regional leadership to design and deliver high‑impact educational programs that build clinical capability, accelerate adoption of solutions and sustain business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the EMEA Professional and Commercial Education strategies aligned with regional Commercial objectives and global education frameworks.
- Design, deploy, and continuously improve surgeon and healthcare professional education programs, including courses, workshops, labs, and digital learning experiences.
- Partner with Commercial, Marketing and Medical Affairs teams to ensure education initiatives support product launches, portfolio priorities and capability building.
- Oversee planning, execution, and governance of regional and local education events, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Manage relationships with key faculty, societies, training centers and external partners across EMEA.
- Analyze education effectiveness using defined metrics and insights to optimize program impact and return on investment.
- Provide guidance and support to country education teams to ensure consistency, quality and scalability of education delivery.
- Manage education budgets, forecasting and resource allocation across the region.
- Ensure all Professional Education activities adhere to Johnson & Johnson Credo values, compliance and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Business, Education or related field. Preferred: Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Education, Healthcare or related discipline).
- Experience: 10‑12 years of progressive experience in professional education, medical education, commercial enablement or related roles within medical devices, healthcare or life sciences.
- Proven experience leading regional or multi‑country education initiatives in EMEA.
- Strong understanding of Commercial strategy, customer education and capability building.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing and Medical Affairs teams.
- Experience managing budgets, vendors and external faculty or partners.
- Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Preferred: Experience within Orthopedics or Medical Devices.
- Background in surgeon or HCP training program design and delivery.
- Experience supporting new product introductions through education.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and blended learning models (in‑person and digital).
- Prior people leadership or matrix leadership experience.
- Languages: Fluent in English plus other European languages is a plus.
- Travel: Up to 40‑50%, primarily within EMEA with occasional global travel.
- Certifications in professional education, instructional design or project management are a plus.
