Johnson & Johnson announces the creation of a standalone orthopaedics company and is recruiting for a Commercial Lead located in Leeds, United Kingdom. The role leads, develops and executes NHS-related commercial activities for DePuy Synthes, aligning with Business Unit leads to deliver financial commitments and BU priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of DePuy Synthes strategic priorities across the NHS customer base via BU framework agreements and NHS collaboration, in alignment with BU leads and commercial teams.
- Lead, develop and support engagement with NHS Supply Chain and other key stakeholders to drive collaboration and partnerships.
- Coordinate enhanced support between NHS and Private commercial teams; execute, deliver and evolve NHS frameworks to achieve financial commitments and market share.
- Shape current and future NHS agreements/frameworks in collaboration with Value team, including sustainability and carbon footprint reporting.
- Coordinate engagement with Pricing and Tenders to simplify processes and drive cross-functional engagement.
- Ensure commercial governance across capital and NHS frameworks through robust governance and contract management processes.
- Ensure execution of policies and plans to drive BU/region growth and achieve long- and short-term objectives via the Commercial Business Management (CBM) team.
- Drive BU support via LT/PMOs and share knowledge across the Commercial Team.
- Collaborate with Value lead and Private Lead to optimise Value processes and maintain high engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the FPC process, coordinate framework variations and shape solutions-based execution.
- Coordinate debt management protocols with the Debt Management team and DS LT to support dispute resolution structures.
Required Education and/or Experience:
- Results-driven with strong project management, process orientation and commercial capability.
- Excellent working knowledge of NHS procurement and NHS contracting/frameworks.
- Proven ability to negotiate value-based, product/volume/capital-led contracts.
- Ability to drive a customer-centric, value-driven approach in a global, matrixed environment.
- Ability to translate business strategy into actionable plans with high execution and planning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in local language(s) and English; strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Data analysis skills with ability to draw actionable conclusions; creative thinking and problem-solving capabilities; inclusive thinking.
- University degree in business administration, marketing & communications, hospital management, life science, public administration or related fields (preferable but not essential).
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven communication, presentation and negotiation skills with a drive to achieve results.
- Strong understanding of the UK Healthcare System, procurement providers and the Future operating model priorities.
- Understanding of health economic principles and UK medical devices industry knowledge.
- IT literacy with ability to analyse and present information using IT resources; highly numerate and able to interpret data.
