Commercial Education Manager, Hips – Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Commercial Education Manager, Hips. This role is responsible for shaping and delivering education strategies that enable commercial excellence and support the adoption of DePuy Synthes hip solutions. The position offers the opportunity to work cross‑functionally in a dynamic MedTech environment, driving impactful education initiatives aligned to business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement commercial education strategies aligned with Hips portfolio objectives and broader commercial goals
  • Design and deliver education and training programs (e.g., product, clinical, and selling skills) for sales teams and healthcare professionals
  • Identify training needs using performance insights, stakeholder feedback, and market trends, translating them into actionable plans
  • Partner across sales, marketing, and medical teams to ensure education programs support product adoption and commercialization
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness using key performance indicators and continuously improve program outcomes
  • Support the planning and execution of educational events, including workshops, symposia, and advisory board meetings
  • Ensure all education materials and programs comply with regulatory, quality, and internal guidelines
  • Manage relationships with external faculty, key opinion leaders, and training partners
  • Contribute to innovation in learning delivery, including digital platforms and blended learning approaches
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning aligned with Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and leadership principles

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or related field)
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MSc, or relevant clinical/healthcare qualification) preferred

Experience and Skills – Required

  • Approximately 6–8 years of relevant experience in commercial training, medical education, sales enablement, or related field (aligned to manager‑level roles)
  • Experience designing and delivering structured education or training programs
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare or medical device industry
  • Ability to analyze performance data and apply insights to improve training effectiveness
  • Proven cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Strong project and program management capabilities

Preferred

  • Experience in orthopedics, particularly hip reconstruction products or procedures
  • Prior experience supporting commercial strategy or product launches
  • Familiarity with learning technologies and digital training platforms
  • Experience working with surgeons or healthcare professionals
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in medical education
  • Experience managing external vendors, faculty, or key opinion leaders

Other Considerations

  • Language: Fluent in English (additional European languages are a plus)
  • Travel: Up to 30–40% travel across the UK and Europe
  • Certifications: Training/education or instructional design certifications preferred
  • Valid driver’s license may be required depending on travel needs
