We seek a Clinical Specialist for DePuy Synthes in the UK. The role supports orthopaedic surgeons and theatre teams with the VELYS™ robotic solution and other products in the Hampshire, Berkshire and West Surrey territories.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-theatre clinical and technical support to consultants, nursing staff and theatre teams regarding safe and effective use of DePuy Synthes products, including the VELYS™ Robotic‑Assisted Solution and associated technologies.
- Deliver accurate information about products, indications, surgical techniques and clinical applications to orthopaedic consultants and related stakeholders.
- Ensure first‑class service and seamless supply: training, stock checks, timely deliveries, pre‑case planning and support to maintain procedural success.
- Serve as a key clinical partner in the launch, adoption and ongoing utilisation of the VELYS™ solution, supporting account activation, pathway implementation and sustainable growth.
- Support consultants and theatre teams through robotic learning curves by coordinating education, system set‑up guidance, workflow optimisation and regular training sessions.
- Identify, develop and convert business opportunities across the portfolio, focusing on VELYS™ robotics, ATTUNE™ Knee and strategic enabling technology accounts.
- Drive utilisation in designated robotic accounts, supporting achievement of agreed case volume, activation and training targets.
- Provide support to DePuy Medical Education events, including robotic and digital education activities, cadaveric training and consultant engagement.
- Achieve business goals in line with company values and regional objectives on robotics growth, market development and customer experience.
- Promote portfolio, services and digital solutions to orthopaedic surgeons, theatre staff and hospital stakeholders, positioning robotics within a broader clinical and commercial value proposition.
- Maintain and grow the business through Key Opinion Leader development, robotic account progression and territory growth targets.
- Build and develop relationships with clinical stakeholders, EBME teams, service leads and hospital decision‑makers to support robotic implementation and long‑term account development.
- Deliver presentations in hospital meetings, exhibitions and account review settings on robotics capability, clinical evidence, operational benefits and progress against targets.
- Use the company CRM system to record activity, maintain account plans, track robotic pipeline development, training completion, case support and performance against objectives.
- Complete business reporting and administration within required timeframes, including updates on robotic opportunities, installed base support and account conversion progress.
- Adhere to company standards of business conduct and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Essential: Experience in orthopaedics/sports medicine and a working knowledge of the theatre environment.
- Essential: Working knowledge of NHS and recent changes, good commercial drive and acumen.
- Desirable: Relevant experience in health sciences, anatomy and/or arthroscopy.
- Desirable: Clinical qualification (ODP, RGN, Physiotherapy).
- Desirable: A degree in science, sports science, discipline, business or technology.
