We work with big name brands and agencies to help earn them coverage in the news pages online, in print, social and via broadcast, with interesting stories, case studies, research driven insight, exciting visuals and more. Our client list includes a string of huge global brands, as well as some of the biggest names on PR Week’s Top 150. We distribute to the biggest news publishers in the UK – from the Sun, Mirror and Daily Mail to the Times and Telegraph.
The Opportunity
It is an exciting time to be joining 72Point, now looking for an ACCOUNT DIRECTOR to grow the team further. The role will form a key part of our brand direct sales team with responsibility over new and existing brand clients. Our existing clients require top quality, hands-on management to ensure campaigns are set up for success and accounts continue to grow. An equally as important area is building the pipeline of new business opportunities through one-off projects, pitches and retainers. The Account Director position is a demanding but rewarding role that will require high energy and a strong work ethic to maximise results. The successful candidate will have experience within similar sales focused account management roles (ideally within marketing and/or PR) where their thoughtful and structured approach has delivered tangible results. This is first and foremost a sales role and therefore will require the person to work well in a target-based environment.
Team Structure
The sales team is split into brand direct and agency sales. The new AD will work closely with the Commercial Director for the brand team and will be expected to manage their own patch of clients and develop a plan for growth in their target sectors.
Qualities
- This is, first and foremost, a sales role. You can learn the language of PR but not the hunger to network and build your own portfolio.
- Comfortable conversing and working with C-suite brand level and be able to open those opportunities.
- A background in PR is not essential but desirable.
- Being able to understand the pipeline, what is required, where to go and able to open opportunities with senior decision-makers is far more important.
- The direct sales approach needs to be balanced with diplomacy and subtlety and relationship building, as we want to build long-term relationships.
- A go-getter who comes out from behind their computer and meets the clients.
- Someone who has pace, a real self-driver able to see an opportunity, build his/her own strategy and identify a market proactively.
- Driving business leads, presenting, networking.
- Having their finger on the pulse of popular culture and the current news agenda in social, national, and international news as well as TV and radio.
- Brimming with great ideas and an ability to juggle and design a variety of channel opportunities and solutions.

This is the most exciting time in our company’s history as the worlds of PR, advertising and marketing conflate. Our offices are positive, vibrant and energetic and full of brilliantly creative people who all contribute to making 72Point a phenomenal ideas factory. We have cultivated our offering, expanded our client base and achieved sustained growth through our sales, achieving new record figures on a consistent basis for the past two years. And as far as we’re concerned, we’re only just getting started! We want this person to add to our culture and bring in a professional, structured, sales outlook to the softer world of PR. We are a disruptor in the PR industry and want to instil a culture of delivery, and professionalism. Culturally, as a place to work, it is a very collaborative, friendly environment. We have a modern, stylish office with much greenery!
