Joining our Rod and Bar Mill team as an Automation Engineer, you will have the exciting opportunity to lead and support the design, optimisation, and maintenance of industrial automation systems on some of the largest pieces of kit in the industry. This opportunity is central to driving digital transformation and automation across our manufacturing processes.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Improving process efficiency, control reliability, and plant performance.
- Implementation and continuous improvement of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and industrial communication networks.
- Plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage electrical activities (i.e. planned maintenance programs, shutdowns or emergency repairs) to minimize breakdowns and malfunctions.
- Estimate the cost, time, and resources required for repair and improvement projects.
- Work directly with engineers in other disciplines and shift managers to ensure effective running of the process.
- Supervise and evaluate the Automation aspect of electrical systems; including maintenance of the automation and digital systems through software and hardware follow-up and the implementation of updates.
You will have previous experience in an industrial environment, as well as a background in automation engineering, so you can get stuck in straight away. Most importantly to us, you will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, a continuous improvement mindset, as well as motivation to achieve personal and team objectives.
