Our Engineer Surveyor roles allow you to develop your mechanical engineering skills further and work for a market-leading engineering inspection provider. Zurich Engineering is looking to expand our highly skilled, field-based, Engineer Surveyor team, and we currently have a vacancy in the Glasgow area for a Lift and Crane Engineer Surveyor.

What will I be doing? You’ll start with our industry-leading, bespoke training. After that, you’ll be in your own work area, carrying out hands-on statutory inspections, providing your expert opinion on a wide range of equipment, enabling our clients to comply with all relevant legislation and to the exacting standards both we and our clients demand. Following inspection, you’ll need to complete an examination report, issued electronically to our clients, so good IT skills and high levels of literacy are required. You will be an excellent communicator, and confident in your ability to make sound engineering judgements. You will be part of a multi-disciplined inspection team within your geographic area. You will report to a Team Manager, with your client base a reasonable travelling distance from your home address. We’ll give you all the tools and equipment you need to do the job.

What skills/experience will I have? You will be an experienced engineer with a sound knowledge of engineering principles. A background working in industry, e.g. manufacturing / repair / maintenance / motor industry / Armed Forces. A knowledge of lifts and/or crane equipment would be an advantage. You will have excellent time management skills, as you will be responsible for organising your working week. Good oral and written communication skills. A full valid UK driving licence. Incorporated Engineer (desirable). Qualification requirements: Minimum of a Level 3 (ONC or similar) in a relevant engineering field – Level 4 (HND/HNC or equivalent) preferred. If Level 3, full training will be offered to bring you up to Level 4. Time-served or Modern Apprenticeship is desirable.
