The Account Director role is a senior commercial leadership position focused on strengthening and expanding a portfolio of strategic customer accounts while leading and developing a high-performing Account Management team. You will play a key role in building long-term customer partnerships, ensuring excellent customer experience, strong retention and sustainable commercial growth across the portfolio. Through a consultative and relationship-led approach, you will identify opportunities to increase customer value through additional products, services and strategic initiatives aligned to customer objectives.

As a leader within the business, you will provide guidance, coaching and support to Account Managers, helping to drive performance, encourage professional development and maintain consistently high standards of customer engagement. The role involves overseeing strategic account plans, leading Quarterly Business Reviews for key customers, managing escalations where required and ensuring opportunities for account growth are maximised across the wider customer base. Success in this role requires a strong combination of leadership capability, commercial awareness and relationship management expertise. Travel may occasionally be required for customer meetings, site visits and industry events.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Overseeing a portfolio of strategic customer accounts and acting as a senior point of contact where required
  • Building strong long-term customer relationships through regular communication and strategic engagement
  • Driving portfolio growth through value-added products, services and staircase selling opportunities
  • Developing and implementing strategic account plans to maximise customer value and long-term retention
  • Leading and supporting Quarterly Business Reviews for key customers, presenting insights, performance and strategic recommendations
  • Managing renewals and retention activity across the account portfolio to support recurring revenue growth
  • Acting as a point of escalation for complex customer issues, coordinating internal teams to ensure timely and effective resolution
  • Providing coaching, support and performance management to ensure individual and team success
  • Working closely with Client Services, Product and Marketing teams to ensure excellent customer experience and service delivery
  • Monitoring account performance, identifying risks and implementing proactive growth strategies
  • Maintaining accurate reporting, forecasting and account records within CRM systems
  • Providing regular commercial updates and performance reporting to the SLT
  • Leading, managing and developing a team of Account Managers to deliver high levels of customer engagement, retention and growth
  • Supporting the development of account management processes, best practice and customer engagement strategies
  • Representing 67 Degrees professionally with customers and at industry events
  • Travelling to customer sites and meetings as required to support relationship development and strategic growth

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in account management, customer success, sales leadership or commercially focused customer-facing roles
  • Previous experience leading, managing or mentoring account management or customer-facing teams
  • Proven track record of growing and developing existing customer accounts through upselling, cross-selling and value-added services
  • Strong commercial awareness with a clear understanding of revenue growth, retention and customer lifetime value
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience leading strategic customer meetings and Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Strong leadership and people management capability, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams
  • Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, customers and team responsibilities effectively
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across sales, service, product and operational teams
  • Confident using CRM systems to manage customer data, forecasting and reporting
  • Strong presentation, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel as required and represent the business professionally

  • Experience within SaaS, digital or automotive-related industries
  • Familiarity with consultative or solution-led sales approaches

Location & Working Pattern

This role is primarily office-based at our Shoreham-by-Sea headquarters in West Sussex, with flexible working available. Due to our office location, please note the following:

  • There are no public transport links
  • Applicants must be able to drive and hold a valid UK driving licence
  • A reasonable commuting distance to Shoreham is essential
  • A dedicated on-site parking space is included as part of the role

As a creative agency with a desire to nurture the talent in our business, we're committed to in-person collaboration and expect team members to attend the office minimum 3 days per week.
