The Business Development Executive role sits within the Sales team and reports directly to the Head of Sales. This is a new business focused role, responsible for identifying, engaging and qualifying new sales opportunities that support the continued growth of the business.
You will play a key role in building our sales pipeline by researching prospects, initiating conversations, and creating meaningful engagement with potential customers. Working closely with Account Managers and the wider Sales team, you will help progress opportunities from initial contact through to qualified meetings, proposals & contracts.
This role is well suited to someone who is confident, motivated and commercially minded, with a genuine interest in building relationships and opening doors. Travel may be required to attend prospect meetings, industry events or support new business activity where appropriate.
- Proactively identifying and researching new business opportunities within target markets
- Initiating outbound contact with prospective customers through phone, email and social channels
- Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
- Working closely with Account Managers and Sales leadership to progress opportunities effectively
- Maintaining accurate records of activity, leads and opportunities within CRM systems
- Supporting proposal development and follow up activity where required
- Keeping up to date with industry trends, competitor activity and market developments
- Continuously improving sales approach through feedback, coaching and learning
- Reaching out to potential customers over the phone, face to face and through online communication with the phone being the most prominent method.
Minimum 3 years experience in a business development, sales or lead generation role
- A proactive and resilient approach to outbound sales activity
- Comfortable working towards targets and commercial objectives
- Confident using CRM systems and sales tools
- Willingness to learn and develop within a growing sales team
- Flexibility to travel and work outside of office hours
- Experience within SaaS, digital, or automotive related industries
- Experience supporting new business or upsell activity
- Familiarity with CRM systems and Account Management tools
- Strong presentation, writing and reporting skills
- Familiarity with consultative or solution led sales approaches
