We are looking for an exceptionally talented Cinematic Director who is ready to build, shape, and lead a team to cinematic excellence!

  • Guide and inspire the team in creating high-end cinematics.
  • Demonstrate key vision holder etiquette and passion in all matters related to cinematics.
  • Be the spokesperson for the cinematics team both internally and externally, including press and external partners.
  • Conduct regular personal and work reviews, manage workloads, and ensure high morale within the team.
  • Handle cinematic animation backlogs, bugs, and risks to ensure smooth departmental operations.
  • Develop the team with a fresh and solid creative vision for future projects.
  • Meet development goals and create clear strategies for times of change.
  • Direct actors and scenes in full performance captures.
  • Serve as a role model for cinematics and the studio, emphasizing project and company goals.
  • Mentor the team to support an inclusive, high-performance culture.
  • Build and maintain excellent relations with Art and Animation Directors.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify workflow issues and requirements.
  • Create, oversee, and maintain documentation to aid collaboration and communication.
  • Stay updated on project developments to keep cinematic scenes relevant and seamless with the bigger picture.
  • Liaise with Script, Animation, Audio, Character, VFX, and Design teams for cohesive goals.
  • Break down scripts into storyboards/animatics as needed.
  • Work with Production to manage cinematic backlogs.
  • Collaborate with Facial Capture and Motion Capture leads to ensure excellence in workflows.
  • Organize regular 121's with team members.
  • Participate in external actor hiring processes.
  • Oversee outsourcing plans for cinematics when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Exceptional storytelling and cinematography skills.
  • Proficiency in Actor Direction and AAA cinematic pipelines.
  • Knowledge of gaming and current storytelling methods.
  • Strong portfolio in cinematic direction, including animation, storyboarding, and sequences.
  • Experience directing motion capture sessions and guiding actors/animators.
  • Organized with thorough working methods.
  • Leadership and communication skills, including morale and motivation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • UE5 experience is highly beneficial.
  • Self-motivated to learn new techniques.
  • Capable of detailed documentation.

Hybrid Working - This role combines remote and in-office work, subject to company policy and agreement with your Line Manager.
