On behalf of our globally respected client who develops cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs, we are looking for a Test Manager for a 12 Month contract based in Derby (3 days per week on-site).
Role overview
The Test Manager will be responsible for end-to-end test management across the three enterprise systems, ensuring they are fully tested, secure, and fit for business use prior to go-live. This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic coordination and detailed test execution within a matrix-managed environment, collaborating with internal stakeholders, vendors, systems integrators, and third-party testing providers.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the overall testing strategy across multiple enterprise systems (SaaS and on-prem).
- Operate effectively in a matrix management model, influencing without direct authority.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all phases of testing, including:
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Regression testing
- Performance and non-functional testing (as required)
- Test plans
- Test scripts
- Test scenarios
- Test reports and dashboards
- Business planners and supply chain teams
- IT delivery teams
- External vendors and systems integrators
- Information Assurance and security teams
Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Test Manager on large, complex enterprise system implementations.
- Strong experience coordinating UAT with business users.
- Hands-on experience creating and managing test plans, scripts, and execution cycles.
- Experience working with third-party testing providers, including penetration testing.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience working in matrix-managed and multi-vendor environments.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and reporting skills.
Desirable
- Experience with supply chain, planning, ERP, or advanced planning & scheduling (APS) systems.
- Experience testing SaaS and on-premise systems within the same programme.
- Knowledge of aviation, manufacturing, or asset-heavy industries.
- Familiarity with Information Assurance or security testing processes.
