We are supporting a globally respected client that develops cutting-edge technologies delivering clean, safe, and competitive solutions to meet the planet\\\’s vital power needs. We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Leader for a 12-month contract based in Derby.

Responsibilities

  • Technologies – Manage and introduce new manufacturing technologies.
  • HSE – Champion product safety and promote a process and product safety culture in the supply chain, ensuring learning related to product safety is embedded.
  • Quality – Develop and deploy manufacturing processes and methods to support Zero Defects and Right First Time manufacture across the business and suppliers.
  • Planning – Govern Manufacturing Engineering deliverables, report status, and resolve issues and risks to meet project timescales across Manufacturing Operations and Procurement. Coordinate Industrialisation support for customer and programme reviews.
  • Create strategy – Support the development of the manufacturing engineering strategy to enable future programmes across Civil and Defence. Drive cross-functional teaming and effective collaboration between Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience at an Engineering Management level, ideally within aerospace manufacturing, with openness to other tightly regulated industries where quality is paramount (e.g., automotive). General awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, MES, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP, Technical Publications, etc.).
  • Has led significant projects across a range of Manufacturing Engineering processes.
  • Has experienced manufacturing change in new product introduction.
