Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides everyday banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The bank's expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.
On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Data Analyst (RAD - Python) for a 6 Months contract based in London (Hybrid - 2 times per week in the office).
Purpose Of The Role
As Data Analyst (RAD - Python) you'll join a dynamic business team within a major financial institution. You will focus on transforming manual, legacy data processes into streamlined, automated workflows. You will also work in a Rapid Application Development (RAD) environment, delivering fast iterations and collaborating closely with a Senior Developer and wider market-facing team.
Responsibilities Of The Role
- Automate and optimize Excel-based workflows.
- Extract, transform, and validate data using Python and SQL.
- Map existing systems to uncover process inefficiencies and data quality issues.
- Build and implement structured validation logic for banking data.
- Deliver high-quality, iterative solutions within short development cycles.
- Collaborate with the Senior Developer and contribute to RAD-style delivery.
What We Require From The Candidate
- Experience in Python development (preferably in financial or data-centric environments), including libraries such as pandas, numpy, and OpenPyXL.
- Experience with (or a strong approach to) Rapid Application Development (RAD) methods.
- Technical and analytical mindset with a passion for data quality and process improvement.
- Experience in or understanding of financial services (e.g., loans, interest rates) is a plus.
- Practical experience in SQL (SQL Server preferred).
- Solid understanding of data validation, data pipelines, and ETL processes.
