DePuy Synthes (part of Johnson & Johnson) is recruiting a Senior Tax Planning Manager to support the global Joints and DPS business across multiple countries.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tax strategies and tax control frameworks for Joints globally and for EMEA & ASPAC DPS, including IP planning, product sourcing, and substance/business model.
- Manage license, acquisitions and divestiture transactions; advise business partners and Tax Counsel Group on integration planning.
- Provide tax advice on Supply‑Chain initiated projects.
- Collaborate with Supply‑Chain Finance on product sourcing and network strategies, sustaining existing tax positions and preparing for controversy.
- Work with Global Transfer Pricing and Disputes on transfer‑pricing strategy for DPS, governing, analysing, monitoring, defending and documenting processes (including §6662).
- Deliver audit‑ready DPS Subcon documentation and sub‑F monitoring.
- Support tax audits in EMEA & ASPAC.
- Manage the DPS‑wide ETR for business forecasts, quarterly results and long‑range financial plans; drive process improvements for accurate tax‑rate forecasting.
- Handle effective‑tax‑rate implications for assigned projects, including risk assessment, reserves and related decisions, and maintain FIN48 reserve analysis.
- Draft and maintain inter‑company agreements.
- Advise on global mobility issues for the EMEA & ASPAC region.
- Ensure DAC6 reporting for DPS sector for in‑scope transactions.
- Monitor Pillar2 impact for DPS and support relevant planning initiatives.
- Advising on ERP design and data structure for supported businesses.
Location & Travel:
Based in Ireland, Switzerland, United Kingdom, or United States of America. Up to 20% travel required.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA preferably in Law, Finance or Accounting.
- Minimum 8 years of corporate tax experience, preferably in MedTech.
- Strong communication, business‑partnering and people‑management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and local GAAP, including tax accounting.
- Familiarity with J&J Tax and Accounting policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical abilities and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with transfer pricing, operational models and tax planning across the value chain.
