De Puy Synthes is recruiting for a Senior Manager, Operational Risk Lead, located in the United States or Switzerland or Ireland or the United Kingdom.

This senior global role owns the definition and execution of Enterprise Risk Management and Business & Supply Continuity strategies for De Puy Synthes’ Global Supply Chain.

This position will be responsible for leading the global strategy, governance, and programs that strengthen supply chain resilience, protect continuity of supply, and ensure organizational readiness for disruptions.

This leader partners across regions, franchises, and enabling functions to identify risks, drive mitigation and recovery strategies, and embed continuity capabilities into end-to-end supply chain operations.

The role has high enterprise visibility and directly influences how the organization anticipates risk, responds to disruption, and embeds continuity capabilities into end-to-end supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the global Business & Supply Continuity strategy for De Puy Synthes, aligned to Global Supply Chain priorities and enterprise risk management expectations.
  • Design and deploy standardized continuity frameworks, governance, and playbooks across manufacturing, distribution, suppliers, and planning functions.
  • Partner with regional and functional supply chain leaders to identify critical risks, conduct impact analyses, and define mitigation and recovery strategies.
  • Oversee crisis preparedness, scenario planning, and response coordination to ensure continuity of supply during disruptions.
  • Integrate continuity and resilience requirements into broader supply chain strategy and transformation initiatives, including network, digital, and operating model changes.
  • Establish metrics, reporting, and executive-level insights to monitor readiness, resilience performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Influence and align cross-functional stakeholders (Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, IT, and Commercial) on continuity priorities and decisions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a global team and/or extended network supporting continuity and resilience initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field). Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Experience and

Skills: Typically 10-12 years of progressive experience in supply chain, operations, strategy, risk management, or business continuity within a complex, global environment.

Demonstrated leadership at a director or senior leader level, with experience influencing senior stakeholders.

Experience conducting enterprise and operational risk assessments.

Proven expertise in business continuity, supply resilience, risk assessment, and crisis management.

Strong strategic thinking combined with the ability to translate strategy into executable programs.

Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional leaders and drive risk mitigation initiatives.

Experience operating in regulated industries (medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or similar) preferred.

  • Preferred: Global supply chain experience across manufacturing, planning, procurement, and distribution.

Experience leading transformation or enterprise-wide programs in a matrixed organization.

Familiarity with enterprise risk management, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices related to continuity and resilience.

Data-driven mindset with experience leveraging analytics and digital tools to support decision‑making.

Excellent communication, change leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Language: English required; additional languages preferred.
  • Travel: Limited; up to 25%, domestic and international.
  • Certifications (preferred): Business Continuity, Risk Management, or Supply Chain certifications (e. g., CBCP, ISO 22301, APICS).
