As we continue to grow our presence in the UK market, we’re looking for a talented Key Account Manager to help us strengthen existing relationships and develop new business opportunities across the North East. You’ll be responsible for a blend of project-based capital equipment sales (pumps) and aftermarket and service solutions, managing both long-standing framework accounts and identifying fresh opportunities within the sector.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key utility customers and delivery partners across the North East
- Lead the development of strategic account plans aligned with Sulzer’s commercial goals
- Win new business across capital equipment and aftermarket portfolios
- Oversee the full sales cycle – from tendering to negotiation to project handover
- Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, operations, and customer service) to ensure delivery excellence
- Report on pipeline activity, forecasts, and customer insights
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in sales, key account management, or business development in an engineering environment – a strong understanding of capital equipment (ideally pumps), rotating machinery, or industrial services is a distinct advantage
- Background in the UK water industry or related infrastructure sectors is preferred, however willing to consider those with a rotating equipment background looking to ener this space
- Commercial acumen with the ability to manage frameworks and project-based sales
- A self-starter who can manage their own diary and work independently
- Must be based in the North East, with the ability to travel across the region as needed
