Gallery Automation Engineer/Specialist

We're looking for a Gallery Automation Engineer/Specialist to join a leading broadcast and media organisation, supporting critical live production and studio automation environments.
This is a crucial position, focused on maintaining and enhancing automation systems that drive live and near-live broadcast workflows across newsroom, gallery and production operations.
You'll play a central role in supporting rundown-driven automation platforms, troubleshooting complex live production issues, and ensuring reliable delivery of time-critical broadcast output.
What you'll do
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot automated rundown-driven workflows, including:
- Vision mixer control
- Graphics triggering
- Clip and source recall
- Support live and near-live productions, ensuring automation behaves predictably during editorial and time-critical changes.
- Participate in testing, validation, and operational readiness for automation updates, templates, and gallery changes.
Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Ross OverDrive and Caprica in live broadcast environments
- Proven understanding of newsroom-to-gallery workflows using OpenMedia, Ross Inception, and iNews
- Deep understanding of MOS workflows and editorial metadata flow
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues across editorial, automation, and gallery layers during live output
Desirable Experience
- Experience in news production environments
- Understanding of how graphics systems (VizRT, Chyron, Unity) integrate with studio automation
- Familiarity with template-based automation design and gallery standardisation
- Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS) and modern operational practices
