The Role
This is a hands-on setting role within a fast-paced, high-output injection moulding environment. You’ll be responsible for ensuring machines are set correctly, processes are stable, and production runs efficiently throughout the shift. Key responsibilities include:
- Tool changes and machine setting on injection moulding machines
- Setting and optimising processes to achieve cycle time, quality, and output targets
- Carrying out first-off checks and supporting ongoing quality control
- Fault finding and basic process troubleshooting on the shop floor
- Working with production and maintenance teams to minimise downtime
- Ensuring safe working practices and adherence to site procedures at all times
You’ll be trusted to manage your area with minimal supervision — this is not a hand-holding role.
Machinery & Materials (Typical Environment)
- Modern, high-tonnage European and Japanese injection moulding machines
- Automated cells with robotics and downstream handling
- Processing of polyolefins and engineering polymers commonly used in packaging applications
- High-cavitation tools, fast cycle times, and repeat production
Experience doesn’t need to tick every box, but you must be comfortable in a high-volume, process-driven moulding operation.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as an Injection Moulding Setter (or strong Adjuster stepping up)
- Confident with tool changes, machine setting, and process stability
- Able to work independently on nights and make sound decisions
- Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable taking responsibility for your shift
- Strong awareness of quality and safety standards
Desirable (but not essential):
- Background in packaging, FMCG, or high-output moulding
- Experience with automated or robotic moulding cells
The Bigger Picture
