The Role
We are looking for an experienced Shift Manager to take charge of afternoon shift operations (2pm - 10pm). This is a hands-on leadership role, pivotal in ensuring smooth production performance across injection moulding lines. As Shift Manager you will be responsible for delivering on productivity, quality, and safety, while developing your team and embedding best practice through Lean and 5S principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the injection moulding department.
- Ensure all activities comply with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
- Drive production output in line with customer requirements, maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor shift KPIs and deliver clear reporting to senior management.
- Embed a culture of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency.
- Coach, support, and develop team members to achieve their potential.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance, quality, and planning to ensure seamless operations.
Candidate Profile for the ideal Shift Manager
- Proven supervisory/management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of injection moulding operations or transferable high-volume manufacturing.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- A track record of implementing 5S/Lean principles in practice.
Desirable:
- Background in FMCG or plastics manufacturing.
- Experience of BRC standards and external audits.
