Technical Trainer(s) x2 – Rail Industry – Home Based Role

Permanent Role – Β£38k – Β£45k (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Electrical Engineering – Delivering Bespoke Training to Rolling Stock Technicians

About the role

5D is working with a training academy delivering City & Guilds accredited training to rolling stock professionals. Following successful contract wins with two major train operating companies and a strong pipeline, we are looking to add two technical trainers to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of technical training courses to a wide variety of rolling stock professionals, from apprentices through to commissioning and test engineers.
  • Complete assessments of candidates and provide detailed feedback on performance and answers.
  • Coach and mentor course attendees to maximise development.
  • Contribute to and write new course content, including bespoke client courses and generic courses for the wider market.
  • Deliver course content that is electrical-based, including electrical safety, line of route, fault finding and diagnostics, through to electrical approved person, and train the trainer courses.

Candidate profile

  • Level 3 qualified in electrical engineering.
  • Passion for training and developing engineers within the industry, including helping to train the next generation of rail engineers.
  • Experience ideally in the rolling stock industry, or in a highly regulated, heavy industry.
  • Some experience in training and assessing is beneficial, ideally with a Level 2 or Level 3 Training and Assessing qualification. If you have experience but no qualification, we can provide the qualification.
  • Willingness to travel UK-wide to deliver training courses.
