Overview
Mechanical Fitter / Machine Builder – 6-9 Month Minimum Contract. Monday to Friday Days – 8am-4pm (37.5 basic hours). Realistic chance of overtime, including Saturday mornings. £21p/h LTD / UMB – OUTSIDE IR35. Based in Letchworth.
5D Recruitment is proud to be working exclusively, and in partnership with a leading engineering company based in the heart of the home counties. Employing nearly 50 people, they design, manufacture, assemble, test, and ship bespoke machinery from their new, world-class facility. They are market leaders in the concept design and manufacture of fully automated, high-precision, bespoke machines used to complete complex functions that guarantee product quality. They work across various industries, with medical and scientific sectors as key markets. They have long-standing agreements with renowned manufacturers, a growing order book, and an exciting future.
This opportunity has arisen due to growth, and we are looking to recruit multiple mechanical fitters / machine builders to meet the requirements of their new and existing customers and projects.
Responsibilities
- Build a bespoke machine, mechanically, from the ground up.
- Work from engineering drawings, build sub-assemblies, and assemblies varying in complexity (some with up to 30 components).
- Fit pumps, valves, tanks, and push-fit pipework (no welding or brazing).
- Fit components into the machinery frames and oversee the machine build from start to finish.
- Communicate with the engineering team lead throughout the build and test phase to capture design changes / as-built drawings.
Qualifications
- Time-served mechanical engineering background.
- Experience building machinery, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
What We Can Offer
- Outside IR35 contract.
- Regular overtime – 45-50 hours per week.
