Employing over 50 people they design, manufacture, assemble, test, and install bespoke machinery from their new, world-class facility. They are market leaders in the concept design and manufacture of fully automated, high precision, bespoke machines which are used to complete complex functions required to guarantee the quality of the product, and supply to four of the five biggest businesses in a sector worth over $50bn annually. Since their current owner completed a Management Buy Out (MBO) eight years ago the business has quadrupled in size, whilst retaining the same profitability margins. To achieve the next milestones in their five-year strategic plan we are looking to recruit a dedicated Business Development Manager with the following remit: What the Role will Involve: * New business development, which will include: * Market mapping and identifying potential customers in new and existing markets. * Researching new opportunities and new sectors that the technology and processes could be applied to. * Identifying and engaging with key decision makers within target businesses. * Managing the sales process from concept to completion, which will include: * Understanding the clients’ requirements and defining a specification with the support of the engineering teams. * Full commercial accountability for machine costing, quoting, and negotiation with clients. * Machine lead times can be from a few weeks to a couple of years. * Being the point of contact throughout the process, from initial contact to machine installation. * Selling both standard and bespoke machines: * Standard machines cost from c£10k, through to c£500k, with a lead time from a few weeks to a couple of months * Selling a bespoke machine solution, which involves working with clients and the engineering teams at a consultative level to help define bespoke machines specifications and managing the communication process. * Order values vary massively for bespoke machines, with some orders being worth more than £2.5m and can take 12 months or longer from initial conversation to an order being placed. * Selling a range of critical spares, consumables, and service contracts, either as part of a machine sale or as separate sales. * Account Management: Working with existing clients, and ensuring they are happy with the machines, whilst networking and maximising sales potential. * Managing the sales pipeline across the business, and reporting to the senior leadership team on a weekly basis. What we are Looking for in the Successful Candidate: * A successful track record in managing the sales process for selling capital equipment to both domestic and international customers. * Someone who has been commercially responsible for their orders. * Ideally someone with an engineering background, or someone who has worked in the engineering and manufacturing sector. * If you have knowledge of ultrasonic cleaning / precision process equipment, that would be a distinct advantage. What we can offer the successful Candidate: * An Uncapped OTE. * A balance of warm clients, and freedom to sell globally to new customers. * There is a huge opportunity within existing clients – who are multi-national, multi-site organisations. * Opportunity to grow and progress within the business. * Unfortunately, Sponsorship cannot be offered for this role
