We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people. As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day care and support for children in a residential setting, ensuring their safety, well-being, and personal development.
Responsibilities:
- Create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people.
- Encourage and support children and young people in their education, social, and leisure activities.
- Work as part of a team to develop and implement care plans and risk assessments tailored to each child's needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Support children and young people with their daily routines.
- Liaise with external agencies and professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
- Act as a positive role model, promoting independence, self-esteem, and resilience in children and young people.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and development opportunities as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential setting is desirable but not essential.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care for Children and Young People (or equivalent) or a willingness to complete.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A compassionate and caring nature.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins on a rota basis.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and in challenging situations.
- A driving licence is essential for the role.
