The Recruitment Firm are delighted to be working in partnership with a newly established but passionate children’s residential care provider who are seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Manager to assist in the opening of 2 brand new children’s homes based in Birmingham after the success of their first home. Job Description

  • To lead the successful opening of 2 small children’s homes.
  • Responsible for the overall management and smooth running of the residential children's home, ensuring that it operates in line with regulatory standards, organisational policies, and best practices.
  • Lead and supervise a team of residential support workers, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and equipped to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in the home.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans for each child or young person in the home in consultation with relevant stakeholders such as social workers, parents, and guardians. Ensure that care plans are regularly reviewed and updated to meet changing needs.
  • Manage the residential children's home budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately to meet children and young people’s needs while maintaining financial sustainability.
  • Lead the recruitment and selection process for residential support workers, ensuring that candidates are suitably qualified, experienced, and aligned with the values and ethos of the home. Conduct interviews, assess applications, and make recruitment decisions in accordance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience working as a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager in a children’s home rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’.
  • Must have Level 3 in Residential Childcare.
  • Must have Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or be willing to complete).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate a team.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Permanent right to work in the UK.
