What is the opportunity

As a Collections and Recoveries Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Technical Change Manager in designing, optimising and delivering and enhancing the strategy which has been set out to achieve a customer-centric approach to customer contact strategies and end-to-end strategic process designs. These strategies will be deployed across all UK secured and unsecured products.

Delivery of technical system changes in line with Customer Loans Solutions UK priority plan.

Using data insights, you will monitor and enhance strategies to ensure they deliver good outcomes for our customers as well as minimising commercial and credit risk to the Group.

You will lead the provision of Collections and Recoveries information into the process to forecast, monitor and communicate capacity planning requirements (people demand) for the UK retail portfolios as well as developing, as part of the team, strategies to manage accounts in line with the capacity plans.

In this role you will:

  • Monitor the performance of existing collection strategies, enhancing and iterating through champion challenger and A/B testing where appropriate.
  • Enhance and improve case management strategies which are supported and informed by data; using historic data to drive balanced risk management to ensure UTP decisioning is in line with past performance.
  • Act as the Collections & Recoveries key point of contact for IFRS9 model development workshops and expert panels.
  • Coordinate / contribute to the submission of papers for key stakeholders and formal governance committees for consideration or approval of operational change and key strategic updates for Collections & Recoveries.
  • Cost-benefit evaluation of any such process improvement opportunities and post-implementation benefits realisation tracking.
  • Identification and remediation of process related risks with potential to breach CIFD policy and/or regulatory requirements.
  • People management responsibility for a small team of analysts.

What will make you stand out?

  • Demonstrable understanding of UK Collections and Recoveries industry, including a working knowledge of secured and unsecured industry legislation/regulation and best practice.
  • Knowledge of credit impairments methodologies, including IFRS9 and valuation methods.
  • Evidence of delivering results within a demanding environment whilst handling conflicting priorities.
  • Capable of a high degree of innovative thought.
  • Ability to identify creative solutions to complex business problems.
  • Proven team leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Adept at influencing and building stakeholder buy-in at all levels of the organisation.
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to set and follow own delivery agenda.
