The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Professional Services (ProServe) ACDC team is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with your ProServe ACDC Enterprise Technologist counterparts to lead engagements with new and existing customers in transformative IT projects, understanding and defining business outcomes for customers by building trust. Together you will identify applicable AWS Professional Services offerings, creating proposals and securing customer signoff of Statements of Work (SOW). You will remain engaged in sales to delivery handover to ensure that we are delivering the agreed customer business outcomes as outlined in the SOW.
The ProServe ACDC Business Development Manager will be expected to collaborate with AWS Strategic Customer Engagement (SCE) teams, ProServe Account Executives, Delivery Consultants and Account Teams to drive customer success and business growth. Your experience in selling services within the technology/consulting sector will equip you with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value for customers. You will demonstrate proficiency in business development, executing sales methodologies, bid management and managing CRM systems coupled with strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities. Performance will be measured against key metrics including but not limited to Revenue, Billable Bookings, and deal cycle duration.
Responsibilities
- Leading business development efforts by engaging customers and driving multiple high-value engagements simultaneously.
- Collaborating with Amazon Global Sales (AGS) representatives to lead project planning, scheduling, and coordination to ensure timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
- Creating proposals, securing customer sign-off on Statements of Work (SOWs), and ensuring successful project delivery.
- Advocating for customers while balancing AWS business objectives.
- Providing leadership, direction, and coaching to project teams, enhancing their capabilities and ensuring high performance.
- Developing and implementing risk management plans to mitigate project risks and demand plans to ensure smooth project execution.
About the team
The ACDC program is designed for customers ready to make a substantial move to AWS, enabling them to migrate and modernize cost-effectively and securely. The ACDC program applies a holistic approach, providing tailored support and bespoke investments to customers in exchange for longer term contractual commitment to migrate, modernize and maintain workloads on AWS. The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts that help customers realize business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud. We work together with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives related to enterprise cloud adoption.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in technology sales, account or bid management.
- Experience developing and executing sales strategies, tactics, plans, processes, systems and programs.
- Experience with cloud technologies and IT strategies.
- Experience with negotiating large strategic agreements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, within technical and business settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of large cloud migration / modernization programs.
- Solid communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain C-level client relationships.
- Financial acumen with the ability to analyze and report on key performance metrics.
- Technical proficiency to understand and articulate AWS services and solutions.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Storytelling and active listening abilities.
- Advanced project management certifications, such as PMP, Agile, or equivalent.
