We’re partnering with a boutique data analytics and technology consultancy with a strong and growing footprint across UK Central Government. As the firm continues to deepen its relationships with major departments, they are now looking to appoint a Client Partner / Account Director to take ownership of a portfolio of central government clients and lead long-term, strategic partnerships.
This is a senior, client-facing leadership role, focused on relationship ownership, account development, and delivering sustained value, rather than transactional sales.
The Role
- You will act as the senior client partner across key Central Government accounts, responsible for building trusted, executive-level relationships and ensuring the consultancy is embedded as a long-term strategic partner.
- Working closely with consulting and delivery teams, you will focus on understanding client priorities, shaping programmes, and ensuring successful outcomes across complex, multi-year engagements.
- You will play a key role in strengthening and expanding the firm’s presence across departments such as DWP, Home Office, MoD, HMRC, and Cabinet Office.
What You’ll Do
- Own and lead strategic client relationships across UK Central Government.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, supporting long-term departmental priorities.
- Develop and maintain account plans aligned to client objectives and transformation agendas.
- Identify opportunities to deepen engagement through existing relationships and programmes.
- Work closely with delivery teams to ensure high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Provide continuity and leadership across complex, multi-year consulting engagements.
- Navigate public sector structures, governance, and frameworks to support effective engagement.
- Represent the consultancy as a senior, credible partner within government.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Client Partner, Account Director, or equivalent within UK Central Government.
- Strong track record of owning and developing strategic client relationships (not purely sales-led roles).
- Deep understanding of central government structures, procurement, and policy environment.
- Experience working with departments such as Home Office, DWP, MoD, HMRC, Cabinet Office, or similar.
- Background in technology, data, or digital consulting in the public sector.
- Established network of senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Ability to translate complex consulting capabilities into clear, outcome-focused value for clients.
- Collaborative, relationship-led approach with strong credibility at senior levels.
- Experience working within smaller, boutique consulting firms in the technology and/or data space is strongly preferred, particularly environments that emphasise agility, client intimacy, and high-impact delivery.
