We are seeking a dynamic Solar Foreman to continuously model to others our standards and responsibilities, including policy compliance, quality standards, and efficiency goals. Job Responsibilities
- Install and provide electrical expertise on a solar installation crew while completing quality installations based on design specifications
- Organize, lead, and train crew members to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframes
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, CAD drawings ETC.
- Effectively manage all aspects of the construction workflow
- Install conduit and wiring in compliance with NEC and local codes in a professional manner
- Demonstrate knowledge of OSHA standards related to photovoltaic installations and enforce safety practices and standards
- Analyze and resolve worker problems and recommend solutions
- Able to install and commission energy systems on roofs, including array layout, and mounting hardware based on site conditions and customers\\\β needs and expectations
- Able to work with operations leadership on continuous improvement and development of processes and people
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent, or Technical/trade school training in solar or electrical systems is preferred
Required Skills
- 2+ years of residential solar experience
- Must be a licensed journeyman
- Ability to safely handle power tools and materials such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to install residential solar PV system from start to finish, including all phases of the installation
- The ideal candidate will have both solar installation and electrical experience, possess strong organizational and communication skills, and maintain a high work ethic
- Knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standards
- Understand of battery backup systems (Enphase)
- Ability to understand or have experience in Electrical Panels including Sub Panels (MBD derate, conduit bending, relocating circuits, etc.)
- Adheres to company safety policies and procedures including ability to identify and report safety hazards, and the ability to encourage others to work safely
- Ability to troubleshoot an inverter that is reporting production loss
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in extreme environments (hot, humid, rain, etc.)
- Ability to work within the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses and other personal protective equipment
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements and have a valid driver\\\βs license while maintaining a clean driving record
- Ability to withstand heights, be on roofs, and climb ladders (Daily)
- Ability to lift 50-75+ lbs. routinely (Daily)
- Ability to work in 0-100+ degree weather, as well as in wet, dry and humid conditions
- Ability to move around for prolonged periods. standing, kneeling, bending, Squat and climbing ladders (Daily)
- Availability for 8-10 hour shift.
