Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join AFRY\’s Energy Division within the expanding Renewable Energy team in the UK and Ireland.

In this role, you\\\’ll lead the delivery of renewable energy projects-supporting clients from development through to construction, with a focus on Great Britain, Ireland, and Northern Ireland.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage multi-contract and EPC projects through pre-construction and construction phases
  • Support clients and funders to reach Financial Close
  • Lead tendering and contract negotiations for major equipment and Balance of Plant packages
  • Prepare project delivery plans, budgets, and programmes
  • Administer construction contracts and manage variations and claims
  • Ensure safety standards and statutory roles are met
  • Contribute to business development and mentor junior engineers

Qualifications

We expect you to have the following skills (but we don\\\’t expect anyone to tick every box):

  • A degree in an Engineering, Project Management or Renewables focused subject
  • Be a Chartered Engineer (or working towards / close to Chartered or Incorporated status); or Project Management Professional status or working towards it
  • A minimum of 6 years\\\’ experience as a Project Manager on renewable energy projects or a closely related infrastructure sector is a requirement with experience of performing the PSDP role on projects
  • You have a proven track record on business development
  • You are a self-starter, ambitious and able to manage multiple tasks. You have excellent written and oral communication skills and are willing to work in a variety of different roles

Experience of one or more of the following would be an advantage

  • Recognised Project Management training;
  • Business management experience
  • Previous experience providing consulting services in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment;
  • Commercial awareness and contract knowledge (e.g. FIDIC, NEC or similar);
  • Design experience gained from concept development and detailed engineering;
  • Practical experience gained from construction, commissioning, and testing;
