We are searching for a talented HVAC Mechanic
Hours: 40hrs
Shift: Day shift, 7:00am – 3:30pm, participate in On-Call rotation to cover nights and weekends
Location: Tobey Hospital – Wareham, MA

Responsibilities
Position reports to the Director, Engineering & Facilities or designee. Perform a variety of duties within and in support of Southcoast Engineering & Facilities. Perform predictive, preventive & corrective maintenance on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration equipment & building energy management control systems throughout the facility. Develop strategies to improve operations of HVAC equipment to provide proper environmental conditions with cost effective utilization through monitoring of the Hospitals GE Prophecy program and provide reports on energy initiative savings as well as regulatory compliance monitoring. Analyze current energy consumption of equipment related to HVAC. Troubleshoot HVAC, commission program strategies & field device operations in hospital buildings. Perform installation of HVAC systems and equipment. Troubleshoot, diagnose HVAC equipment and make necessary repairs of the equipment and associated systems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates degree in Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Heating preferred.
- Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License and Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification required.
- Related experience required to demonstrate ability to operate and maintain typical HVAC and Refrigeration Equipment Systems.
- Two (2) years of experience in a hospital or industrial environment with knowledge in the maintenance and repair of centrifugal chillers, energy management systems and associated equipment.
- Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License and Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification required.
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
Pay Range
USD $23.46 – USD $38.91 /Hr.
Rotation Schedule Requirement
